LinkedIn vs. Instagram vs. TikTok: where should founders focus?

Feb 3, 2026 · 6 min read

One of the most common questions we get from founders: 'Where should I focus my content efforts?' The honest answer is that it depends on three things: your audience, your goals, and your content style.

LinkedIn is the best platform for B2B founders, consultants, coaches, and anyone selling to professionals. Organic reach is still excellent, the audience is high-intent, and the content format (text posts, carousels, articles) rewards depth and expertise.

Instagram works best for visual brands, lifestyle businesses, and founders who want to build a personal connection with their audience. Reels and Stories drive discovery, while the feed builds your brand aesthetic. It's ideal for B2C and personal brands.

TikTok is the discovery engine. If you're trying to reach a younger audience or want maximum top-of-funnel exposure, TikTok's algorithm is unmatched at putting content in front of new people. The catch: content needs to be video-first and hook-driven.

Our recommendation for most founders: start with LinkedIn + one other platform that matches your audience. Get consistent there before adding more. Quality and consistency on two platforms will always beat scattered efforts across five.
